Etienne had a lot going on. He has always had a lot going on-maybe too much.

He never knew his father, and his mother was too busy sleeping in brothels even to recognize her own son.

His grandmother single-handedly raised him since infancy but she resents him for ‘ruining her daughter’s life’ with his existence.

His Boss was borderline sexually and physically harassing him.

Etienne could barely afford to eat.

His dreams took a pause…or from how long the break is, maybe a total halt, and now, he has to provide for his sick grandmother. He was fully convinced that he could never become the certified chef that he always wanted to be and would probably be stuck drawing dishes in his book all his life.
